Anlaby Rerrrrrrrrrd etc?
oh dear......, have you had the misfortune of visiting ?
Worse. I lived there for years! I like Hull as it happens. Got quite an atmosphere.
I lived in all the choice areas - Boulevard, Spring Bank West, Albert Ave of Anlaby Rerrrrd and also Peel Street and once a posh gaff down the Avenues. Happy days.

many of the houses in those area would be the most desirable properties in any other town but 'ull,
even the Avenues which has many professional people with Audi's,  stripped doors / polished floors & chaise lounge's have neighbours next door in grand old houses badly converted to flats living like the young ones....
its strange town,
Me? ex Holderness Rerrrrd living Nr Sproatley

It is a strange town and always divided in two. The old town has always been dead and despite Princess Quay and the Ferensway shopping thing, even Queen's Gardens has not altered the flavour of the place. There was always gallons of shops you never saw elsewhere in the centre but the broader layout of the streets and houses seems to give the place a grandeur it never had. It is rough as f**k. But I love it. From the ferry days of the 60s to now with its bustle and burr of Hully-Gullies who talk like no bugger else on the planet.
I mean, who would guess Hessle Road is 'Ezzul Rerrrrrrrrrrrd" in Gullian?

TBH its a f'kin dive, I think its time I moved elsewhere
today the M62 was closed (which does 'nt quite reach Hull) made me 4hrs late for a job,
tea & toast at home,
out the door before 7:00
stopped at shop off the (closed) motorway, bag of crisps, bottle of pop, frys choc bar,
back home after 19:30 to cook a pizza (frozen) served with beer,
tomorrow is a local 8am start & maybe even lunch, I wanna retrain a dole scum !
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let my knob gags be misunderstood....

One  for and a one against debating Hull should provide some interesting thoughts.
All comments above are nothing to do with here and therefore not the resposibility of the Talk Britain, site owners, admins or mods!!

Not many of us reach this pinnacle of comestible finesse and perambulation. Those wonderful times on the M62 when I've pulled over for a slash on the hard shoulder..

It shows Einstein was right about relativity.
When you have a slash at home it takes maybe 30 seconds. But you translate that same slash to leaning against a car or underpass on the M62 and we're talking 2 minutes 15 seconds minimum for that same 30 seconds to elapse.
Plus, at home the slash is unaccompanied audio-wise yet unleash the peesh on the highays you are soon availed of every sort of car horn and cries of laughter and occasionally encouragement.
As seasoned M62 partakers will agree having a slash on it is about the most interesting part of the journey.
I imagine most veterans would be in raptures should this pastime escalate to taking a shite on same. lol!

Pissing on the M62? Isn't that classed as improvements and eligible to government funding?

Then you WOULD have a pot to piss in!

LOL!! Urban renovation!
As motorways go the M62 has its moments. You too would wish to slash on it should you find yourself on it on a daily basis!
