GP's under fire?
« on: November 19, 2011, 09:29:47 am »
Been watching this on the news this morning as was stunned to put it mildly. Now due to my condition deteriorating I could get caught up in this. I do not want to follow the route that some have advocated to me recently as it is not in my make up. Is this the right way esp if you are still employed (as I am) or are we just going to suffer because we do not know how to play the system unlike some? If The company I work for cannot assign me a job I can do then I will be on the scrap heap. I have been at the Occupational Health, Consultants and Specialists and they deem me unfit for the job I do. There is little that due to my condition out there and despite laws stating I cant be discriminated against finding work will be hellish. Oh and just to be odd I didnt go for a sick note until I had been at the above mentioned people.

personally, if you've paid into the system whats the harm in being supported by it should you be unable & not unable to work ?

The review also suggests tax breaks for firms which employ people who suffer from long-term conditions.

 :20: :20:

They do that here.

THEN the dole says you are not allowed to tell them you are "sick".

If you DO, they take money off you* because "you are putting obsticles in the way of finding work, and therefore are classed as `Not seriously looking for work´".

(The law actualy sais you are "not OBLIGED to tell them", therefore the dole is "covered", if you do.)

HOWEVER. If you do NOT tell them, and then have to take days off sick, the firm can sue you for all the costs involved in recruiting and training you (Plus you get done because you are not insured. See next sentence.), AND, should you have an accident which damages you, anyone else, or anything else, or all of those, you are not insured, and can be sent down for ten years (Even WITHOUT accident!), as WELL as being sued for compo!

(The law actualy sais you are "not obliged to tell them", therefore the dole is "covered", if you don't.)

*(33% for 3 months for "1st offence". And it CAN go up to 100% for 12 months)

P.S. THEN some stupid bastard in "Government" turns around all surprised, wondering why the "take up is minimal"!!!

If you make a law banning weapons you\'re making a simple fundamental error: what defines criminals is their tendency not to obey the law.

Sadly all the money we pay into the system with N.I. and tax ends up going to those that carnt be arsed. Also there is the money that is fraudulently claimed. So now if you have the misfortune to end up out of work for any reason you are put through an electrified grinder to claim what you are entitled to.

My concern with this is that the "Independent agency" will be Atos Healthcare, and while the "Atos" part may be accurate, neither health nor care feature in their companies primary concerns.

Atos is now the primary outsource agency for Occupational Health, and many aspects of the NHS (Did you know the NHS was being privatised by the back door? Thank Labour for that!!)

Their level of care doesn't even extend as far as discovering what people are suffering from (or even getting gender correct) before calling them in for OH interviews. An example - calling a double amputee (Both legs) for an interview on an upper floor of a building with no lift!!!

They are tossers and will be the tools (if not the architects) of the demise of healthcare in this country.

May their groins be infested by the maggots of a thousand rotting corpses!
