Is China right?

Had a read through this and though not my idea of justice I think it could be a job for Jeremy Paxan.

The way the law works over there may be seen as inhuman and sadistic the idea behind the T.V. show has me wondering if China has the right idea. American death row inmates spend years even decades waiting through the appeals process thus extending the mental pain of those involved. Yet even the Chinese have compasion as the woman that murdered her husband seems to have been shown. Yet though they can be executed witin 7 days they need the Supreme courts consent. Maybe there is something to be learned from this for our system of criminal punishment especially around this bit;

"If the case is fit for lenient treatment, give it lenience,' and, 'If the case should be strictly treated, give it a strict punishment,'

Sometimes ours is a bit skewed and gray thanks to non legal interference.

Now that it has become globally acceptable even the Chinese have backed off.  Imagine if it was used against the bankers that got us into our mess having Paxman interviewing them before they got a bullet into the back of the head. The whining about it and Jezza at the end saying take him away and make the poor public's day.
